Who was Jordanian pilot Moath al-Kasasbeh, killed by ISIS?

Summary: A Jordanian fighter pilot was held captive by ISIS and burned alive. In mourning, Jordan held ceremonies to remember the fallen soldier. He was described as “modest” and very religious. An “honorable” man. In an “interview” with him, released by ISIS on their site, he describes the accident in which is plane was shot down and he landed in a river until he was captured by ISIS militants. He says that his plane was shot down by a heat-seeking missile, although the US and Jordan say that ISIS was not responsible for shooting it down.

Analysis: I definitely think that this article further enforces the fact that ISIS is relentless in its killings. They are going after innocent people as well as those who are fighting for the security of others. They are recruiting people from all over the world and are growing in numbers. I believe that ISIS should be taken more seriously as a threat and be dealt with more harshly.

Discussion Qs:
How do you think the governments of Middle Eastern countries should handle ISIS?

Do you think the United States should get involved more than they already have?
