- Briefly explain why you are interested in studying your topic: I love sports, professional or college, and I find this topic one of the most interesting ones in the sports world. Many stories come out about professional players who say in college they could barely survive because they had no money, and had to call their coach to ask for food. The sad thing being that even a coach giving a player a burger is not allowed. Colleges get in trouble because they served too much pasta at a team pasta party! I want to understand the reasoning being this and determine if players deserve better than this, they can't even afford food while the college is raking in millions of dollars.
- The overall question I plan on answering by the end of the project: Do NCAA athletes deserve to be paid for sports in college?
- Sub questions I will need to answer in order to answer the overall question: What is the reason why players today do not get paid? If decided that they should be paid, should it be for all sports, or just sports that bring in massive revenue such as football and basketball. Should players be all paid a flat rate, or should the better players make more money.
- My plan of research (what specific Library Databases, specific websites, names of authors, people, etc. will I pursue to find the answers to the questions above): ESPN, US News, NBC News, Statements for players such as Arian Foster, coaches of college players.
